backho.me is an NFC-based lost-and-found service designed for items such as phones, keys, wallets, bags and other personal devices. Each tag carries a unique service link that a finder can open by scanning the tag.
The finder is taken into the lost-and-found flow, where they can contact the owner through the service. Owner information is stored on the platform rather than directly on the tag, with webchat and contact-sharing options forming part of the recovery process.
The system is deliberately passive. Tags do not contain batteries, GPS or live-tracking hardware, and the service does not require a subscription.
Development has included concept work, prototyping and testing, tag redesign, website and packaging work, supply-chain testing and an initial stock order.
